Display Driver Uninstaller

Display Driver Uninstaller is a utility for completely removing AMD, NVIDIA, and INTEL video card drivers from the system, including registry keys, folders, and files.

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) completely removes video card drivers from the system, including their registry entries, files and folders, and registration keys. DDU removes graphics card drivers from AMD, NVIDIA, Intel. In the arsenal of the utility, there are many advanced functions and useful settings: various options for uninstalling: «with a reboot», «without a reboot», «with turning off the PC» (to install a new video card); creating a system restore point before deleting; deleting/saving the root folder with drivers; deleting / saving existing monitors; creating and saving log files in the program folder; correctly deleting or saving additional software installed with drivers.

Recommended use

  • It is best to completely exclude the DDU folder from any security software to avoid problems.
  • Keep in mind that NVIDIA/AMD has nothing to do with this, I don’t work for NVIDIA/AMD or for NVIDIA / AMD, and they shouldn’t be held responsible for anything that might go wrong with this app.
  • You should turn off the internet or completely block Windows Update when running DDU until you install new drivers.
  • DDU should be used when there are problems removing / installing the driver or when switching the GPU brand.
  • DDU should not be used every time you install a new driver unless you know what you are doing.
  • DDU will not work on a network drive. Please install it on your local drive (C:, D: or else).
  • The tool can be used normally, but for absolute stability when using DDU,
  • Safemode is always the best.
  • If you are using DDU normally, clean, reboot, clean again, reboot.
  • Make a backup or system restore (but usually it should be pretty secure).
  • It is best to completely exclude the DDU folder from any security software to avoid problems.

Using Display Driver Uninstaller

If the video card driver is incorrectly removed, system crashes, «blue screens» may occur, and the stability of the OS will be disrupted. To avoid this will allow the Display Driver Uninstaller. Before removing drivers, developers strongly recommend creating a recovery checkpoint, and performing all actions in safe mode. At the first launch, the program will automatically detect the manufacturer of the video card. There is a possibility of manual selection. There are three ways to uninstall drivers:

  1. Delete and restart. The recommended method in which after completely removing the drivers and residual files, the computer will restart. Avoids many problems when installing other drivers;
  2. Delete without rebooting. Removal is performed without a subsequent reboot of the system. After removing the video card driver, the screen goes dark for a few seconds, which is necessary to start the standard Windows video driver.
  3. Delete and disable. After removal, the computer automatically shuts down. This method is convenient for removing drivers before replacing the video card.

All operations performed are saved in a special log. You can access it by clicking on the corresponding tab at the top of the window.
